The National Foundation for Development and Humanitarian Response (NAHR) participated as a strategic sponsor in the International Scientific Conference titled "Protecting the Environment and Achieving Water Security in the Context of Climate Change: Current Challenges and Prospects for Sustainable Development." The conference was hosted by the University of Aden, represented by its Center for Environmental and Climate Studies, in partnership with the Arab Democratic Center in Berlin.
NAHR's participation stemmed from its belief in the importance of scientific research as a fundamental tool for understanding environmental and climate challenges, and for contributing to the design of more effective and sustainable development interventions. Additionally, the foundation highlighted the role of scientific conferences in enhancing knowledge production and linking it to public policies and practical applications on the ground.
The foundation emphasized its commitment to integrating climate change issues and environmental impact assessments across all its programs and projects, particularly in the sectors of livelihoods, sustainable agriculture, water resource management, and building community resilience. This ensures that interventions align with the principles of environmental sustainability, mitigate negative impacts, and strengthen communities' ability to adapt to climate risks.
Through this participation, NAHR underscored its dedication to expanding partnerships with universities and research institutions, and to supporting scientific initiatives that contribute to protecting natural resources, enhancing community resilience, and achieving sustainable development in Yemen.
